There has been a lot of talk about the movie "The Secret" and its impact on the way the world thinks. The entire focus of the movie is on the Law of Attraction and what it can lead to when it is applied to a person's own life. There can be no doubt that it has changed a lot of people's lives for the better. So why is it that some of us appear to be able to apply it successfully and some don't?
The first thing to say is that the Law of Attraction was not invented by the movie makers, nor is it their exclusive domain. Further, the movie did not examine the subject from every angle or include every possible way of practising the use of the Law of Attraction. This is not meant to be a negative criticism of the film. It would not have been possible to include everything about the LOA and its applications and still keep the movie within a manageable time frame.
My one objection would be about the name. In calling it The Secret, they somehow managed to convey the idea that the information about the LOA had been kept hidden for centuries by some secret society of jealous monks, or something like that, but that now at last through the heroic efforts of some intrepid explorers, the secret could finally be revealed to the whole world. No doubt the makers of the movie did not intend for this impression to come across, but it did anyway.
The reality is rather different. The fact is that if you look carefully into history, you will find that the Law of Attraction has been taught openly and practised for hundreds of years. The reason it is not easy to see that for what it is, is because the Law of Attraction has only received that name in very recent times. It is only now that it is being recognized as a law of science, with a sound and provable basis in the area of quantum physics. The technicalities and the implications of quantum physics are very difficult for most of us to comprehend, and they require a long and detailed preliminary study before one can even begin to explore them.
Fortunately it is not necessary to understand the inner workings of quantum physics in order to use the Law of Attraction in your life, any more than you need to know exactly how the internal combustion engine works in order to drive your car. The important thing to know when you drive a car is the fact that it DOES work, and then to use the ignition key and the pedals and the shift in combination to get you where you want to go. Using the Law of Attraction is similar to this.
So to use the LOA, it is necessary to learn about where the ignition key is, how you turn it, what the pedals are for and where they are, just as when you learn to drive. And yes at first you might go along a little hesitantly and slowly, but that is all part of the learning process. All of the techniques you can use, which you can learn from reading all kinds of resources, including this intel, will start to get easier to use once you have practised them for a while.
The Law of Attraction has never been hidden from view. It has been right there in front of us all the time, working all the time. But it is in the nature of the LOA that if you don't believe that you can use it to make things happen for you, then that is exactly what you will find. You will find only evidence that "proves" what you are thinking, because you will attract those things to you that give you that evidence.
